E6400, disable upon wired connect

Is there a settting on the E6400 wireless card (Intel Wifi link 5100 AGN) to disable the wireless connection on wired connect?

I know I can create a wireless profile using the Intel admin utility that enables this setting, but I'm tying to stay with built-in windows 7 wireless utility.

Is there a registry setting or such that I can make?

Thank You

 bjohn1,

To turn off most wireless cards, you can press Fn and F2 at the same time, F2 and some have a switch. In most cases, when connecting with the ethernet cable, the wireless should no longer work. I'm almost certain it's setup so you can connect with one or the other but not both.

You can click start, in search type.

Quickset

Open Dell QuickSet and you can turn the wireless off there, if you cannot find the correct key functions.

We don't actually use quickset, but I will take a look at it.

Although what I want to do is disable the wireless card automatically when an ethernet cable is plugged in.

 bjohn1,

I just tried mine and see what you're talking about. Even though you're connected to the ethernet cable, the wireless card is on. You can only connect to one at a time, so turning the card off would be great.

What is the make and model of your computer and operating system?

bjohn1,

From searching, it looks like Fn and F2  or there is a switch on right above the headphone and microphone ports, (next to "Dell Wi-Fi Catcher" button.)

To run the wireless card on/off.
