error message / nuisance

Question

several times/session on internet, rec.message 'server busy'.  Hit switch button or retry button; nothing happens.  Cannot clear dialog box by'X'ing.  Does not take me offline or anything.  When trying to switch program, retrying, looks like a 'ghost' of popup ad appears momentarily in background, also, start menu will come up on second monitor (I run two monitors at same time).  Any suggestions, comments would be appreciated.  Doesn't appear to affect performance, just bothersome.

Have you checked your meachine recently for any spyware?
