I am having vastro 460 with intel i3 and window 7 32 bit . try to install driver for network card but not working. ping is working but not showing it in device manger.
You will need to install the Chipset drivers first and Network Card drivers later. The IPaddress that you have pinged is that of the localhost and will work, even when there are no network cards detected.
Please download and install the Network Card drivers from the Network section and the Chipset drivers from the Chipset section from the following link, by punching in the Service Tag: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you for your reply and for providing an update on the status.
The files downloaded are self-extracting zip files and they would be extracted to C:\Dell\Drivers. You will to run the file from this location to start the installation. The following link has information on how to download and install the drivers in the correct order: http://dell.to/X1IKGu
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
I have the same problem when reinstalled windows the network card disappeared.
I have Dell Vostro 460 with windows 7 64bit OS installed. Updated chipset first, installed MS SNMP service (as when I install the network card driver, it says MS SNMP is missing), updated network card driver (R282233), worked the first time.
After reboot, the network card disappeared again and could never get it back.
Saw a lot of discussions about this problem but didn't see a solution that can fix my problem.
