Ethernet Card doesn't work after reinstalling Win ME

I have a Inspiron 8100 and recently it crashed. So i reinstalled my WinMe and everything is fine except for ethernet. I couldn't find the driver for it from the resource disk given to me when i got the laptop. Managed to get the driver off the dell website but after installing it , it doesn't work cos it has conflicts. This error appears "This device cannot find any free memory range resources to use".

vigneshAramis,

Did you reinstall the Intel 815 Chipset Drivers for ME first? Integrated devices won't be recognized correctly unless the chipset drivers are installed first.

Then use the drivers linked below in my sig area - the Lucent 8.30 driver for the modem and the Actiontec/Intel 8255x ethernet driver for the NIC.

From the Device Manager delete it, reboot, then let the driver be found again.  See if that will allocate memory correctly.
