Ethernet Card/ No internet detected.

I recently did a low level format of my inspiron2500, everything was going fine until today. I went to connect to the internet with my wireless adapter and cant. So I tried to plug in from my router and I still cant. I went to cmd and did an ipconfig/all, and I got a message that said windows ip configuration. I then went into my network connections and nothing is showing up. I tried to install my drivers from my drivers cd, but I am having troubles still. The drivers installed fine, but I'm still unable to get a connection. I also tried downloading them from the website, and still nothing, I installed R39745. Is that the right thing? Please help!!! I am going out of town for 2 weeks on Saturday and I want to get this fixed before I leave.

Specs:
XP SP2
384 MB ram
linksys router
Fiber optic internet

Would that be under communication drivers, or network drivers?
