Ethernet Card

I have a Dell Dimension 4400 and have just been told that my Ethernet card is defective.  Microsoft
SP3 locked my computer up and Microsoft has gotten me back upl and running however I have to reload every thing and have been unable to get on the internet.  Microsoft says my Ethernet card is deffective.  I need information on getting a replacement and installing the replacement.

Thanks,

If Microsoft says your ethernet adapter is defective it must be so.   Nevertheless, a installing a new ethernet adapter is a rather cheap troubleshooting step.  Any 10/100 PCI ethernet network adapter will work and should cost you less than about $15.
