Ethernet Controller device driver

Question

Hi I had to recently put a new hard disk on my Inspiron 5100 .. After installing XP home from the dell OS CD, i found certain device drivers were not installed correctly .. One of these was the Ethernet Controller (appears with a yellow Question mark in the driver manager) .. However it seems the network adapter was installed .. Howver i am unable to connect to Verizon DSL Going through the dell forum, people have recommended installing the device driver from the Broadcom website .. Will this solve my problem (install the ethernet controller device driver and the 1394 network adapter) ??? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks siddhi

Do you have any special software that Verizon requires for connection purposes? All Downloads for your laptop can be found at the top of the page in the downloads tab.
