Ethernet Controller issue (Inspiron 530)
Hi all. New to the forum so I'll do my best to give all you might need to hopefully help me. I have a dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer running Windows Vista. Last week it got a virus so I did a complete reformat. After getting everything re-installed, I have no internet connection. I went into my device manager and under Network Adapters is the Ethernet Controller tab. There is a Yellow triangle with the exclamation mark. The drivers are all up to date (i have run search and it comes back with the drivers are correct and up to date) and i have cycled both my router and modem several times. We even tried to connect straight to the modem and by-pass the router but to no avail. I know the modem and router are working properly as i can connect with my laptop. The error code is Code 31 (Windows cannot load the drivers required) but when i click the drivers tab it says the drivers are right. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to get the connection up and running? Thank you!

Just a thought. Since you reinstalled OS after infection. Did you reinstall the drivers in the correct order? Dell machine require the DSS driver to be installed first and then chipset, video, NIC, audio.... see this:
Desktop System Software (DSS) or Notebook System Software (NSS) - A vital utility that provides critical updates and patches for the operating system. If you are reinstalling the operating system or updating all the computer’s drivers, it is imperative that this software be installed first. Currently, the DSS and NSS are not required for systems with Windows Vista installed. This is located under the System and Configuration Utilities Category on the Drivers and Downloads page.
