Ethernet Controller missing?
I recently crashed my desktop and after spending almost a week going through various tech supports to get it back up now I am without my ethernet controller. Fun stuff.
The computer is a Dell Dem. 5100 and the only CD that came with it was for the monitor. I tried downloading the drivers on the secondary computer and burning them to a disk, installed them on the problem PC and still nothing.
Anyone suffered this problem? Please help if possible.

After reinstalling Windows, and before attempting to install drivers for any other devices, you need to install the chipset drivers. Once the chipset drivers are installed, you can then install the drivers for your network adapter, video card, sound card, modem, and any other devices you may have. The chipset drivers can be downloaded from:

During the process of installing the file, a dialog appeared asking me to "Insert Disc 1".
Placing a formatted 3.5" disc in the floppy did not work.
I can't unpack the file normally.
