Which of the two possible ethernet network adapters do you have on that machine and which drivers did you install?  If you have the Gigabit adapter, the the Broadcom drivers are correct.  If you have the Intel 1o/100 LOM, then you need to install drivers for that.

Go to the following site, enter your service tag number the click on the "Original Configuration" tab.  This will give you a rather cryptic list of the components insalled on your 8250 when it shipped.

I got it, you were right, I needed the other set of drivers. When I originally put in my service tag the first time, the broadcom drivers were listed as Recommended, but the intel one was optional. Thanks again

Can I tell if i open up the box? I dont have any of the documentation so I don't know. Guess I'll take a look. Thanks

""Optional" and "Recommended"  are not specific to your machine.  They are recommendations only if you are considering updating the drivers.  Since you have no drivers, these don't have any application to you situation.
