UAH420,

Make sure that you install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other device drivers, otherwise the devices may not work.

Dell has no specs for my Dell 600m.  I need drivers for the dell 600m ethernet controller.  In hardware there is an ! mark.

I thought Dell would have the original hardware config under the service tag.  But it does not list it.

The Dell system scan does not pick it up.  I guess cause they don't list the ethernet model and make, there is no way I know which driver to DL.

Maybe Dell thinks I will have a dream and the dell 600m ethernet controller make, model, driver, etc. will come to me tonight?  Or as I walk through the French Quarter?

Thanks from New Orleans

Sir Gary,

Maybe you are having trouble because you are from LSU (I'm at Tulane).  Joling aside - You have to determine if you have the Gigabit ethernet adapter or the 10/100 ethernet adapter.  Do you know what you ordered with your system?  The Gigabit adapter would have been an added option when you ordered.  If you don't know, it is likely that you have the 10/100 adapter.  Drivers for both types of adapters are listed under Network at:

Volcano,

I concede that Tulane is in the top tier.  In Harvey working on the Harvey Canal for the USCORP of ENG, this is my brother's notebook so I had no idea which Ethernet RJ45 this Dell had.  The Fresh Devices, Belarc and others did not pick up the controller cause there was no driver installed?

( Fresh UI - http :// freshdevices com - your free Windows tweaking tool - just got better with the release of version 7.89. What's new: hidden options for WordPad application.

Download here )

The Dell website did not list the original confi for the ethernet adapter.  But you were correct, it is the 10/100 ethernet adapter.

The DL, install and restart worked perfect.

Enjoy your chicken and sausage gumbo.
