Ethernet Driver Will Not Installed On Dell Dimension C521
Hi. We have a dell dimension c521 but the ethernet drivers will not install on both vista and also xp. We have tried running scans to see the controller name but still no luck. We have tried the one on the dell website and also the broadcom one that is meant to install on it.
Any suggestions?

Tim,
Can you see it in the device mananger? Does it have a yellow exclaimination mark or red x?
Did you recently reinstall the operating system?

Hi Rick. Yes it can be seen in device manager and it has a yellow question mark beside it. We have tried installing the driver and also locating it on the c: drive and installing it via device manager that way.

Tim,
Try uninstalling it from the device manager and then restart your computer. Since you said you installed the drivers already, when Windows restarts, then computers new hardware wizard should start running after you log in, and install the hardware and driver.

Tim,
Try going to Drivers & Downloads, enter your service tag number. Download the chipset drivers, in your browser and save them to your desktop. Install the chipset drivers again, then try installing the ethernet drivers. If it doesn't install, it might be possible that it might have failed.
