External modem vs internal

Question

Hello, My daughter is going to install a cable ISP ,my question is should the internal modem be uninstalled,or just left alone -didn't know for sure if this would cause conflicts or not. Thanks

In most cases it is left in the PC.  If she ever wants to send or receive a fax she will need the modem and a standard analog voice telphone line.
