failed to update profile list, Profile database in use

Hi

I've just purchased a new Dell Latitude D420 laptop for one of my user's and she's just e-mailed me to say that she is having problems with the Intel wireless.

She says that she switched on the wi-fi at home and goes into the Intel Wireless software, she gets the following message "Failed to update profile list. Profile database in use.  Please wait for Intel/Wireless to update the profile list".

Has anyone come across this before and if so, could you recommend a fix for it?

Thanks

Dave

Hi dave,

Does the computer have vista installed on it? Download and install the latest Intel Proset Drivers and Utility from support.dell.com or www.intel.com

Hi Chris

It's got Windows XP Professional SP2 installed.  I called up Dell this morning and they've advised me to download the latest intel pro wireless driver from the Dell website and install this.  I'd imagine it's the same driver that came pre-installed with the laptop when we boguht it but I'll re-install it all the same.
