The fax program is built into Windows XP. How that works with a Dell AIO??? That is a question for the Dell Ink Jet forum, the forum section for support on Dell branded units such as yours.
Within Windows applications, e.g. MS Word, if you want to send a fax from Word you select the Fax as the "printer" and then "print" to the fax program. How that works with the Dell AIO if you want to scan something in and fax it??? You may have to scan it to a file on the PC and then fax the file on the PC.
At first you need to make sure that you have fax service running in your computer. You can check that by following START>RUN>services.msc>OK. In the list of the services check for "fax service" status, it should be "started". If you don't find it in the list, then use the Microsoft Fax CD sent along with the printer to install this service. Once you have it installed, go to START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>COMMUNICATION>FAX & follow the prompts to configure the fax. Once you have done that you can open the "fax console" under accessories>fax & use the application to fax the docs. For more Details goto:
