I started to download the 2.0 beta last week but found that it contains either the yahoo or google toolbar (don't remember which) and as soon as I saw that and there wasn't an option not to download it, I decided i didn't want 2.0.
it seems to be good. i don't know where these google tool bar idea came from.. it didn't ask to install any toolbars in the installation, nor does it it show any toolbars under view/toolbars

Automatic updates won't work yet according this this site:

(google news is your friend)
"Firefox users expecting their browser to automatically install version 2.0 may have to wait a little longer. Firefox’s automatic update feature does not presently give users the option of declining an update. And because some users may not want to move to version 2.0, Firefox will first ship a 1.5.0.8 upgrade to the browser that will give them the ability to decline the major upgrade. After that it will push out the 2.0 version via automatic update."
