Firewall, possibly wrong forum sorry

Hi all
I have a 3com Wireless Router accessing my dsl at home with a built in firewall, this one  http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=110680

I am also running xp with sp2 with the firewall on. Is this a waste of time, and by running both am I having a negative impact on network/pc performance? If so which one should I turn off?  The PC is a Dimension 2400 with 2.8 P4 and I'm trying to get out of it whatever I can.

thanks

No you can leave both on I do and I have no problems, but I don't think you can disable the firewall on the router, you can disable wireless security but the hardware firewall will still be there.  So if you have problems you will have to disable the Windows firewall.

It is recommended to only run one firewall because eventually they will conflict.I would say switch off the XP firewall and use your router system as it is more substantial than  microsoft firewall. If you do switch off the XP firewall dont forget to also switch off the firewall service! In XP services.
