Ghost multicast floppy for GX520

Hey,

Tomorrow we have to image about 20 GX520's. I tried to make a Multicast boot floppy for ghost, but it aint working. I used the default Broadcom drivers for the network card (http://www.broadcom.com/drivers/downloaddrivers.php Dos Ndis2 driver) but when i boot of the floppy, it cant find the network card :( Is there someone who could provide me with the propper driver? It would save me alot of work.

Thanks in advance :)

Are you sure that it is hanging on the network card? If it is hanging during boot from the boot floppy, change the SATA config in the BIOS to Combination.

I'm trying to build a Bart's network boot disk for a Optiplex GX520.  I'm having a problem determining the correct device id and chip number in order to create a ndis.pci file for the .cab file.  Can you provide a way to determine that?  Better yet, can you point me to a cab file that works? (I've tried using the b57.dos file from the Dell Reinstallation disk but TCP\IP errors when trying to bind.)

There is a new dos driver available from Broadcom.
Just use the B57.cab from Bart's page.
Use the new DOS driver from Broadcom.
Edit the ndis.pci file to include:
1677 "NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet (BCM5750A1 10/100/1000)"

Make a new cabfile with these modifations and try again.

Hope that helps.

Before I got this, I upgraded my Symantic Ghost Corp Ed. from v7.5 to 2003.  I created a network drive mapping boot disk and selected the broadcom netextreme ndis2 template.  That boot disk worked on my Optiplex GX520.  So I guess that there's a different B57$ driver packaged with v7.5 then there is with 2003.  Otherwise your fix sounds like it would work.  Thanks for the information.
