going wireless

I am going to go wireless with my dell and I heard cool things about 54G.  I want to know if anyone here has tried it and what they think of it.  From what I have heard you get maximum wireless speed 5x the competition.  I also heard that by using it I will get better battery life because it has a lower power consumption.  The website I have been looking at is www.54g.org.  So any experience with this I would love to hear about it.  Is it as cool as I hear?

Remember, your internet connection is a lot slower than the 54mb 802.11g spec, so unless you move large files between your own networked computers, or game between the network computers, the extra spped is superfluous.  I highly recommned wherever you get off of the Wifi highway, stay with the same manufacturer for the router and wireless cards.
