Great Wireless Connection; No Internet
At home I get a great connection to my wireless router and a great conection to the internet, email, AIM, etc. When I go to my college campus, I get a great wireless connection to their unsecured router, but I can't access the internet, my email, AIM, or anything else except what's on my computer. HELP ... How can you have an excellent wireless connection without being able to access the internet? What's wrong?

Although the network at the college is a non-secured network, this only means that it does not use WEP or WPA encryption. It still may have security features enabled (like MAC Address Filtering) which would only allow wireless network cards to connect if they have been registered on the network. This is the way the wireless network works at the university where I work. Have you contacted the people in charge of the wireless network at your college to see what has to be done?
