Hardwire NIC only works when docked

I'm using an M6300 laptop with a Broadcom Network device. When docked, the hardwire network connection works fine, but when undocked (even if I reboot after undocking), the hardwired network won't work. The wireless works fine, but I can't make a hardwired connection to any network. When I look in the network connection area, the connection is disabled and I'm not able to Enable it (Enable fails). According to Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2, the drivers aren't even loaded. My 1394 Network adapter is also in the same state (drivers not loaded and not enabled). Can someone tell me where I have to go and what I have to do in order to enable these parts of the network adapter when undocked? Thanks!
