I am experiencing the same problem and probably went thru all tipps and tricks which are available (see my thread

The only thing which I havent tried yet is setting the machine to its initial settings by pressing CTRL+F11 on startup. This doesn´t work as I created a new partition in the meantime and the this Dell tool doesn´t work and have no back-up CD. But the Dell support, which went thru a dozen other steps agreed now to send me a new INTEL mini PCI card, which may be faulty. I hope this will solve my problems. )Please notice that a different USB Adapter works fine on my Inspiron)

I am having problems connecting as well. I have an inspiron 1150 as well. I didn't have a problem before and just recently it states that it see a network, but it won't connect. I bought the Linksys had the router sitting directly in front of the notebook and it continues to search for the network.
