Greetings and thanks for the help. Using the Dell 1450 wirelses adapter, I tried to connect to the Apple airport and I could not get an IP address. I did not try to connect to Apple airport directly via ethernet.

I did connect to Westel Router/Verizon directly via ethernet and still was unable to get IP address/link to internet.

Then I went to

and downloaded (from another computer) fi rmware version 03.02.01(or later, not sure) onto an external hardrive which I connected to DIM 4700 (with Dell 1450 USB adapter plugged in) and ran the setup program twice. Each time, I got the following message:

"Setup did not detect your modem. Check connection and verify modem power is on, then select 'Retry modem detect' and click next. If all connections are OK and modem is powered on, select "Configure Static IP on Nerwork Card and click Next". When I did that, I then selected "Dell Wireless 1450 Dual Band ...." and clicked next. After that, i received message:

Click Next to set the following IP Address: 192.168.0.250 subnet mask 255.255.255.0"

Then it says setup has finished setting the static IP address . . .. restart computer. When I restart, I get the same message I started with, "Setup did not detect your modem . . . . " What next.Icon says signal strength from adapter is "good".

hmm some suggestions. the versalink that you are using is basically also a router. a modem/router in fact which also has wireless capabilities, nat forwarding which means you dont have to use the airport anymore since its just redundant for a home network. can you plug the pc straight to the airport do an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew in run/cmd and lets see what happens..

Greetings,

I plugged the DIM 4700 into the Apple Airport via ethernet and in cmd prompt typed ipconfig /release. I got a message saying there was an internal error, and that failed to query host.
