Having trouble with Bluetooth

Question

I'm having trouble with my laptop & my bluetooth mouse.  It keep disconnecting & reconnecting from the computer.  When it start to go crazy, it can connect&disconnect 6 times in 10 seconds!   So the mouse is frozen for these 10 seconds each time.  The battery are NEW.   Here's some info about the hardware & software.  I've a Dell Inspiron 9400 Dual Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, Wireless 355 module with Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR Technology.  I'm using Windows XP SP2. The mouse is... hard to tell.   It's the BT mouse that come with the Mouse & Keyboard Bluetooth kit.  (P/N DH956).   When i check at the diagnostic of the BT, i get theses informations: HCI Version: Bluetooth HCI 2.0 HCI Revision: 20DA LMP Version: Bluetooth LMP 2.0 LMP Sub Version: 4182   It's hard to say if the problem come only with the mouse or other BT devices also because i use only the mouse most of the time.  I've tried my BT Motorola HS810 Headset with it and i never had any problem with it.   If someone have a clue to help me to get rid of this problem, i would appreciate.   Thanks

What OS do you have on the system? If Vista was this an upgrade? Have you updated the drivers? If not please go to www.support.dell.com and update the driver. You'll need to uninstall the Bluetooth driver first from add/remove programs then install the updated driver.

As i said in my previous message, i'm using Windows XP Professionnal (english version) with SP2. It is not a Vista upgrade.   I've uninstalled SET POINT and installed the version i've found on your web site.  I've updated the BIOS also.  The other drivers found on your web site doesn't apply to this case (i don't see why a video driver would correct my bluetooth problem).    I still get this problem.   I don't know if it make a difference, but i'm left handed and the BT transmitter seems to be on the right side of the laptop.    When the mouse is perfectly at the left of the laptop, this problem doesn't happen.  But if i move the mouse forward (to go a bit behind the computer), the mouse go crazy and i get many disconnections & connections.   Thanks

I got news about my case.   Because my mouse was always connecting/disconnecting, i got mad and just turned OFF the button under the mouse to stop that (because each connection/disconnection freeze the computer for few seconds, and if it happen 10 times in a minute, there's reasons to get mad...).   But even there, i still ear a sound just like if a bluetooth device was trying to connect to the laptop.  But i see no BT device arround...   So i've decided to modify my BT configuration.  I went to the Accessibility tab, and selected 'Only Devices Listed Below', and added my own mouse 'Dell BT Mouse'.   I'll see if it changes something...

It still not working....   Should i dump that trash?  i'm getting tired of this sick mouse.   Still hopping that someone will get here to give me some help!

Anybody home?   I'm still having trouble with my mouse... anyone have an idea of what could cause this problem?   My mouse keep disconnecting...   Thanks
