Help Christmas present not working right

Question

Giving my dell mini 10 to my mom for christmas and did a fresh install on it.  I had 4 drivers that wouldn't work so after awhile I found that they had to be done in a certain order.  Now the only one I have is a 'Network controller' that has the exclamation point by it.  My wireless network card isn't showing up under network connections so I have to assume that is the problem.  the other problem is I'm not sure if there is a driver I HAVE TO uninstall first to get them installed in the correct order.  I'm not sure what some of these are: Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software ++operating system?++ Chipset or SMBus driver  ++this was one of the four so I had to install this driver before I could do the other two I DID get to work. Processor Driver (if applicable)  ++?? Video ++was done with install Audio (sound) ++was one of the four...was able to do it after the SMBus driver Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)  ++this was done with install Modem  ++I have no modem, but I installed drivers just in case cuz I am trying everything Network Card  ++the ethernet connection was also one of the four so I am able to get a wired connection now...it was the last one I manually installed QuickSet(Laptop only)++ not sure what this is. Where does 'Network Controller fit on this?  I have the WLAN driver installed.  I have the WLAN enabled.  When I go to 'run'  then type 'msinfo32.exe' it shows under 'components', 'network', 'adapter' that I don't have a driver listed under 'RAS Async Adapter' but when I googled it a lot of people are looking for that driver but it seems to not be around and/or it is solved by something else.  (for instance it is on cnet, but it takes you to microsofts website which says use windows update'  It is also supposed to be on the xp cd.  Tried 'reinstalling driver from there, but it can't find it. Here is the System Information screen: I just put in a new power adapter wire thingy on this that I got shipped from china and bought a multi-head power adapter that had a head that fit this thing.  I don't want to have to go buy a plug in stick thingy too!  Christmas is tomorrow and I've been working on this for DAYS!!!! Can anyone help, and fast?

The proper sequence is : desktop/Notebook system software(DSS/NSS)( if listed in the drivers section) followed by the chipset driver(s). the rest can be in any order.

If you did not load them in this order you can try loading the NSS in normal mode and the chipset in safe mode. Baring that you would have to start over with a fresh install and then the proper order.
