I know it says it's plug'n'play, but have a look at this:
How do I install my BT Voyager 1060 PCMCIA card?In order to install your voyager 1060 follow these instructions.
- First step to installing the 1060 adapter is to make sure Not to install the device in the machine
- Then insert the cd rom into the drive this will auto run and take you to the install screen.
- If the cd rom doesn't run go into My Computer and then Right Mouse Click on the cd rom drive which displays the Voyager 1060 disk and select Explore. Inside there double click on the Setup.exe file.
- This will take you to the install screen once on there select the install option to start the install shield wizard click Next and Yes to agree to the license agreement.
- It will now prompt you to select a location to install the files to leave this as it is and select next.
- It will now prompt you to connect the 1060 pcmcia card. Once the card has been installed there will be a green square in the bottom right corner of the screen Right mouse click opn this and select Open Utilitythis will take you to a wireless network tab.
- In there will be a list of avalable networks with the voyager 2100 (or 3rd party base station) listed Click on the base and select Configure in this new window select Ok. You will notice the voyager will be in the prefered network now as well click ok to finish the instalation of the 1060.
Otherwise, and I know it's a silly question: have you tried contacting BT for help? Details for phone helpline and email, other FAQs and driver downloads are here:http://www.voyager.bt.com/1040_1060/support.htm

Hi,
Thanks for getting all that for me.
I followed your instructions but that is basically what i do anyway and i still get the error message.
I have tried BT but they aren't very helpful at all and just send you around in circles. They told me to phone Dell who said that my machine seems to be working fine but i just dont know what to do next!
Please if you have any other ideas please let me know, in the mean time i will contact BT again and see what they say.
Many Thanks
Gary

At what point exactly do you get the error message? Is it for example when you load the CD?
It would be very helpful if you could describe step by step what you do and when you get the error.
