i have a dimension 8250, and i cant seem to find a ethernet controller driver for it, can anyone help me?

It's most likely the Intel adapter -
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_8250&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2834
But, if you special ordered it, it could be the Gigabit adapter -

Do you know which network adapter you ordered with your computer? Which file are you downloading. Note that it would be quite helpful if you answered all of my questions and provided a bit more detail in your answers.

Did you recently reinstall Windows on this machine? If so, did you install the chipset drivers as the first device drivers installed after reinstallation of Windows? If you open Device Manager, are there any devices shown as problem devices? If so, which ones?

Do you know which network adapter you ordered with your computer? What happens when you download the files I specified in my earlier post and try to run them?

To find out which network adapter came with your computer, click on the Product Support tab at the upper left of the Dell forum Window. Enter your Service Tag Number, then, when the support site comes, click on the link to show the original configuration. See if you can figure out from that listing which network adapter you have.
