Help ME!!!!!!!!
I have a dell inspiron 1545 and recently the OS crashed. It was terrible I couldn't do anything not even boot up in safe mode. So my friend said they could fix it. They installed Vista Ultimate and managed to save all my files from my previous system but I can't turn on the wireless capability. When I hit the F2 key nothing happens.
PLEASE HELP

ItsBree,
After the operating system was installed, was the notebook system utility and the chipset drivers installed first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Start with the notebook system utility and the chipset drivers and install the drivers in order.

I downloaded the only NSS that was there and it said. "This Microsoft Windows operating system service pack is not supported Please update to the lastest Microsoft Service Pack."

ItsBree,
Hopefully your friend didn't wipe the recovery partition. Using a Dell OEM disk that came with the computer would restore the computer with no problems.

If that does not work, then if in the *United States, Request Backup Disks USA If in another Country, then contact Dell Tech Support in your Country.

Do you think that maybe if I go back and have her do a clean install that things should be better?
I have begun moving all my files over to my desktop just incase it is something I should consider.

ItsBree,
Yes, please backup all files and folders that you cannot afford to lose.
Hopefully you can use the recovery partition to restore the computer.
If not, then use the Dell OEM Disk that came with the computer. Please make sure if you use the Dell OEM disk to install the drivers in the correct order. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

ItsBree,
You need to get the Windows updates, especially Vista SP1, but since Vista SP2 is out, That would be better.
Start, all programs, windows update. Check for updates.
