help solving network printer sharing on wireless

i've been having spooling errors when trying to print over a wireless network to my usb printer. i have another computer on the network than can print just fine so file/printer sharing seems to be fine on my end both desktops are running xp and are wired lans. however my laptop running win98me gets spooling erros when i go to print something, i've checked the d-link settings and file sharing is allowed. i also installed my printer drivers on the laptop so it can see that my printer is a hp deskjet 3550..

does anyone have any ideas why the laptop can see my network printer but cannot get something printed. also i checked the wireless connection after i printed and it seemed to be sending data hmmm. thanks

Did you install the Windows ME compatible drivers on the system running Windows ME?

windows 98 me as in "millennium edition " by far the worst windows ever:(

I installed the drivers for the printer off the hp cd, since the laptop didn't have a printer assigned I went to start/settings/printer tried to add a new network printer but the list in 98me is ancient eg my printer isn't on the generic drivers under HP printers in 98me... so i just installed my printer as you would do any other. connected it to the usb so it was recognized. when i go print not it is recongized as network printer //dell8300/printer3

I’ll download the me drivers from hp website, but i would assume they would be on the driver cd anyhow the printer is usb 1.1

thanks

i got it all solved, i apparently had 2 printers being shared in xp from my pc, hpdeskjet3550 and printer3 , both of those refered to the same printer so i unshared printer 3 , and renamed hpdeskjet3550 to deskjet3550 and set it to share refreshed my network folder and it was seen, i changed the printer port on the laptop "wireless " from printer 3 to deskjet3550 and it printed first time.....

thanks for your replys ... i tried me driver thing but it asked for the 98 cd and i don't have it since its on a restore partition on the laptop
