Without knowing the symptoms of the problem, the model of the computer, the make and model of the wireless adapter, the make and model of the router, the version of Windows you are running, and other details of your network environment, it is impossible to help you.  Someone can help, but since no one knows what the problem is, how are they going to help?

The wireless connection that i normally use on my Dell Inspiron 600 m laptop is not working anymore. Its an open connection from my neighbors house and i noticed that he changed the name of the connection one day and since then i can't log on anymore. My sister was able to log on from her laptop without any difficulty. When the computer (software: Intel Proset/wireless) tries to connect to the network it takes a really long time and then it will say, "unable to connect to " I've tried to go to advanced settings and make sure that "automatic Ip" was checked and yes it is. Right now i'm on at another location and am able to log onto someone else's wireless network. any advice would be very welcomed. pt

I have a wireless network from my parents house which i put a lock on so that people can not enter.. If someone doesn't protect their network in that way then its an open network. I haven't heard that this is illegal and for sure it is not unethical to enter an open network.

if you don't have permission to use his network then you are stealing his bandwidth and it's not legal.
