On a computer that has internet access, go to the following site and download the driver for the integrated network controller:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_CEL_2400&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3597

Copy this file to a CD-R or USB removable media and take it to your 2400.  Copy the file into a location on the 2400 and then double click it to run it from there.  It should reinstall the driver for you.

Thank you Volcano 11!!!
I had too much headache with Ethernet Controller Driver after formating the hard drive. I have all Dell resourses CD's, but those didn't work! I would think that I'll find all nessessary drivers in Dell recovery CD's, but I was wrong! I called to Dell customer service even and I explained every thing about my Dimension 2400 desk top's problem, I told them the Service Tag & Express Service Code, but I got nothing. Finally after spending long time(2 days), I got your messege with this link that saved me!
I am not a beginner and I know almost every thing about computers, you think about beginner users, with this kind of difficulties!
Now I thank you again and I hate at Dell computers because of bad customer service
