help with wireless

i have forgotten my securty key for my wireless router and was trying to get it my using the online control utility ( http://192.168.2.1 that one). when i enterd the website it asked me for my user name and password but i do not remember it. i tried using admin as the username and pass but it did not work. so im wondering if there is a way for me to restore it back to that or is there a way for me to check what i set it as. i would greatly apreciate it just got my new dell inspiron 1720 and i would really like to get on the internet and download some stuff. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks ahead of time.

the only way it apprears in your case would be to do a complete reset of the router back to factory settings..this would return the unit to out of the box and you would have to set it back up..

Do you keep a copy of your router settings saved? Always a good idea in cases like this..

you will have to check your routers manual on how to do a reset..should involve a switch on the back of the router..if your router is a Linksys the procedure is to find the reset switch..unplug the power..press and hold in the switch as you plug in the power cord and hold the switch in for 30 secs

That address looks like a Belkin address.  Either weay, the only way to get back in will be to reset it to the default factory conditions.  That information would be on the website of the maker.

Linksys uses the same  ip address...like we both have said a hard factory reset is his/her only possibility..
