Did he say why it not work? This is pretty lame for a technician to say it doesn't work and not tell you why and then to futher suggest that it is Dell's fault that it doesn't work. Are the drviers for your network card not installed? Have you had trouble with spyware and or/viruses? The only thing I can suggest without more information is to try downloading and running winsockfix for Windows XP from the

I had the same problem with Charter Cable. The technician came out to hook me up, but the computer could not received the cable. He spent several hours trying to figure out the problem, then came back the next day with his supervisor. The supervisor finally said that there was a problem with the way the computer was configured and I would need to deal with Dell to solve the problem. I called Dell, but they couldn't help me. What kind of instructions did Dell give you?

I did what Volume11 suggested and downloaded the fix it ...
Dell sent step by step instructions to set up the proper ports, haven,t done that because now I decided that since I am having so many problems, I am just going to forget it for now, Dell neads to let us have excess to a tech when we have these problems but I guess they want you to call them so they can make money, I will continue to the AOL thing since I am not using my computer for business purposes
