Home Network Access

I have 3 Dell computers running XP networked with a a Linksys router.  Two hard wired, one wireless.  The router is hardwired to a Cable Modem.  Internet connection is great on all three.  I am having trouble with File Access.  Here is my scenario

Computer 1 - Hard wired to router
Computer 2 - Hard wired to router (hard drive(s) only, not monitor, old computer
Computer 3 - Linksys Wireless Card to Router

Computer 1 - Can access Computer 1 and 2 hard drive(s).  Cannot access Computer 3.  Denied access, Contact Adminstrator message.  Printer hard wired to computer.

Computer 2 - Old computer.  When in service, could access Computers 2 and Computer 3

Computer 3 - Can access Computer 1, 2 and 3 Hard drives.  Can print to Computer 1 printer.

I set all of the network settings to allow file and print sharing.

Suggestions to troubleshoot?

Thanks

Which model computer is computer 3?  Which verison of Windows?  Which Service Pack?  Are you sure there are no other firewalls running besides the Windows firewall?

The problem is most likely a firewall running on the computers that you cannot access.  On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.

Thanks Volcano

I checked the firewall on Computer number 3 and the Windows XP firewall is active, but it is checked for file and print sharing.  In notice another odd thing on after reviewing FAQ on this forum.  The Simple File Sharing option is not available under My Computer-Tools- Options-VIew

In idea if this could be an issue on Computer 3 that is causing this problem?

You have a third party firewall running on #3 (Norton, Mcafee, etc) that is blocking access or the File & Print Sharing access has been disabled on the wireless card.  My guess is a combination of the two.

Computer 3 is a Dimension 4300 running XP, SP2. No other firewalls running. Previously had Norton AV installed but subscription expired and removed. DO have AVG AV and Antispyware running, but not firewall settings.
