Most internet problems are caused by spyware. Have you checked your system for spyware with at least two antispyware programs? If not, download, install, update, and run the free versions of
Ad-Aware and
Spybot and let these programs remove all of the garbage that they find.
If these programs don't solve the problem, go
Here and follow the directions to download and run the analysis tool called HijackThis. Generate a log file, then open it and copy and paste the text of the log file in a message in the
HijackThis forum where a HijackThis expert can offer advice on how to fix the problem.
The majority of IE problems are due to Add-ons (toolbars, BHO's, IE helpers, redirectors, etc). You say you have no tool-bars, but I wonder if some other IE add-on might not account for your problem. Try this:
On your desktop, right-click your IE7 icon, and select "
Start Without Add-ons".
If this solves your problem, then you will have to find the responsible Add-on in IE7:
Tools>
Manage Add-ons>
Enable or disable Add-ons. Selectively disable each, one by one, til you find the culprit.
If "
Start Without Add-ons" doesn't help, then I agree with Steve- you have some malware.
