Horrible internet usage

I just bought a brand new Inspiron 6000 upgaded and on the internet every page i try to go to take like 5 min or it won't even load at all which is the case about 95% of the time.  I have to hit refreash and continue to click the link so many times.  This stuff stinks.  I bought it brand new and it doesn't even work.  Its not my network either cause my roommates havea sony and ibm thinkpad that work great, but no not my DELL.  Please let me know what i can do to fix this problem.  Thanks alot.

If your trying to figure out how to get back to the power settings then go to the contol panel and look for power options.
Also, for specifics, are you running wireless?  What is your wireless card?  The Dell 1450 has an update to correct the problems with performance with channels 3-9.  You could try to change the channel that the router is running on to something other than 3-9.

Hey its me again.  Well the problem is happening when i am just running on the battery.  But it does it even when the battery is full.  It won't load alot of pages and it takes forever when it actually does.  I turned off the power saver thing that poped up when i unplugged my computer for the first time but now i don't know how to get back to the options like that or what to do about the problem.  Please help me.  Thanks alot.

Hi, I've just purchased the Inspiron 6000 also and have noticed the same problem. It takes 10 times longer to view a webpage then an older computer that i had side by side to the new one. I have been jumping thru several hoops and 2 hours of tech support finally today Dell is willing to send me a new hard drive to try, because they feel this is the problem. Myself I would have thought the interenal wireless or the motherboard.  But we'll see if it works. I am just as frustrated as you. Afterall you buy a new computer and you expect it will work better or faster then you 3 year old laptop. SO I sit here waiting for a part using my old computer, and my 1800.00 new computer sits idle. I'll let you know if it works. Sounds like an issue.

I just bought the dell inspirion 6000 mid to high upgraded like 2 weeks and it works like an absolute dream on the web when i have it pluged into an outlet, but when i unplug it and even when the battery is all the way full it runs so slow you would think it was from like 1910 and is so annoying.  I run wireless but that shouldn't have anything to do with the fact since with the plug in the wall it is absolutly awesome but running on battery power i can hardly do anything.  Please help me out and thanks.

Have you disabled all power management on your network card?

Well after several hours  on the phone with tech support, and numberous hoops to jump through, encluding a new hard drive that Dell sent, that did not change anything ( I knew that) Dell is now sending out a rep to replace the motherboard &  interenal wireless card. I'll let you know how it goes.
