How can I remove a wireless network

Hello :
Trying to fix my brothers Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop.  Here's the scenario :
He has a wireless network in his home with an SSID of XXX145.  When we view the available wireless network - we don't see it.  Other members of his family can see it and connect just fine.

When I tried to setup a wireless network using the connection wizard - it gives me 2 options - 'new' or 'add new computers or devices to the XXX145 network'.  If I choose new, it eventually fails, I believe, because it wants the Dell software to control these networks.

Somehow I think he has created an XXX145 network on his laptop that has incorrect settings which keep him from connect to the wireless router.

I took his laptop home with me and I can connect just fine to my wireless network.  However, when I tried to setup a wirless network - as part of my troubleshooting - I see the same option - 'add new computers or devices to the XXX145 network'.

Somehow, I think when the laptop sees the XXX145 SSID, it chooses settings that will not allow it to connect.  When it sees a different SSID, it must choose default seetings and works just fine.

Is there any way for me to remove the XXX145 network?

Thanks for the help.

When you go to the "View Avaialable Wireless Networks" screen, look in the left-hand pane and click on "Change the order of preferred networks"  You can remove a network there.

Thanks, Steve.  However, since Windows is not managing the connection ( Dell is ) the display does not show any networks.  What I have done is added a new network using the Dell connection wizard with the name of XXX145 and the settings I want.  Hopefully this will override the previous settings.  It still bothers me that there is a network definition somewhere on the machine that I cannot view - or remove.  I won't know if this fixes the problem until I take the laptop back to my brothers house in a few weeks.

I appreciate the help.
