How do I become wireless everywhere?

I plan on buying an Inspiron 1150 soon and I'd like to become wireless with it. I'm trying to find a way to be wireless everywhere, not just where I am close enough to a router. My goal is to be able to take my notebook to work and to school, both places do not have connections. How do I make my notebook able to recieve internet access wherever I go?

First of all, at the present time there is no such thing as universal wireless internet service.  There may be in the future, but right now it does not exist.  In order to connect to the internet through your wireless adapter, there must be a wireless network available within range of the computer in order for you to connect.  There are some places that have free wireless networks available and let anyone connect (some coffee houses and some airports, for example).   T-Moblile has a service that you have to pay for, that will allow you to connect anywhere where they provide wireless access (usually airports).  If your work does not have a wireless network, then you will not be able to connect, as there is not wireless network to connect to.  Most colleges have wireless networks, but usually you have to register your computer with the IT department of the college in order to connect.   You may also be able to find wireless hotspots that are usually unsecured wireless networks in people's homes or businesses, that are not really there for you to connect to, but because they are unsecured, you would be able to steal the signal and use the wireless network.  So, realistically, it is just not possible at the present time to do what you plan to do.

I will disagree with the notion that there is no wireless everywhere. I have an at&t gsm phone. Anywhere within there cellular coverage I can get the internet. Verizon,Tmobile,Sprint,At&t,Cingular all offer wireless cards for laptops. The cards typically go for around 0-200 depending on contract. The speed is comparable to dialup(however verizon has unrolled dsl speeds in dc and is planning to go to the rest of the country in the next few years). The price range is anywhere from 50-80$ per month. So all you need to do is contact your cellular provider and ask about wireless cards for laptops. Hope this helps

Also, you might want to check this link out.

http://www.dlink.com/products/antennas.asp

It shows external and internal wireless router antennas that will increase your wireless range up to several miles away from your house!! I just purchased the D-Link DI-524 "g" rated router and am seriously considering upgrading to an outdoor antenna.  If anything, it will allow me to drive down the street to the coffee shop and surf from my own network..or maybe kick back in the park 5 miles away.  Hot-spots are popping up all over. Here's another link you should check into.

Navigate to your state to find out where the registered hotspots are. It will show you the one's that offer FREE service too! Enjoy..and thanks for reading my post.
