How do I get a network ID

How or where do I get a network ID to show in my system , I'm operating windows 200 profesional 10/100 PCI Fast Ethernet NIC card, 56k PCI Telephony Modem.

Please provide more details - What do you mean by "Network ID"?  Is this a wireless network or a wired network?  Where do you want this "network ID" to show up?

I'm installing software that requires to read NIC address not the IP address  only I can get 00000000000.  Do I need a DSL connection to be able to get this address.

Are you talking about the MAC Address?  If so, type ipconfig /all from a command prompt (Start>Run) and the MAC Address will be displayed as a twelve character alpha numeric id such as:

12:AB:34:CD:56:EF
