How do I install new wirelees router

I have an 802.11b linksys router that I have been using for a while.  The router connects one dimension with a cable wire and two inspirons hooked  up using  wireless.  Since I bought the second inspiron the wireless connection is not constant.

I just purchased a netgear 802.11g.  Do I just install the netgear according to the instructions (I have not opened it yet)?  Or do I need to uninstall (remove the files on the dimension) the linksys router files?

Any other tips are welcome.

Thank You!

No software is required for a route unless you are connecting to it by USB.   Since you are not, then you should not have to remove any software nor install any software to install the new Router.

all the software that comes with the router does is try and configure the router settings so it can connect to your
ISP.....
