How do I turn off my firewall?

How do I turn off my Symantec firewall?  I am trying to download some music using LimeWire Pro, which I purchased a subscription.   However, it says that either I am not connected to the internet (which is not true) or my firewall is preventing it from searching songs and I must turn off my firewall.  Any suggestions?

golfr12,   Check these links from Symantec:   http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/norton2008.nsf/0/e9d9a017daee19726525731d004f83da?OpenDocument&seg=hm&lg=en&ct=us   http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/norton2008.nsf/0/1fd47b158e5b83446525731d00610d03?OpenDocument&seg=hm&lg=en&ct=us   In the case of Limewire, you will need to open port 6346 on the firewall.  If you also have a router, you may need to open the port on that device's firewall as well.  Check the router manual for specific info on how to do this on your router.    Steve
