How I connect?

Only by wired network, sometimes to a server with activated DNS and domain logins but also sometimes with a fixed ip adress als part of a peer network. I do not think it's an external problem because even the local network system remains for a long time (2 min) not accessible. Access to a local database by tcp/ip is not possible until the network icons appear in the taskbar. When I want to use the network configuration (start -> settings -> network) the network icon opens after nearly 2min.

Are your critical Windows updates complete? Have you run SpyBot S&D as well as Ad-Aware on this system? Is your virus definition file up to date and have you run a clean scan?
