How to delete Dell's wireless network software completely....

Hi!  I bought a Dell laptop recently and tried to get the WiFi connection working but to no avail. In a vanilla XP install on another laptop it all went very well.  On my new Dell, it just kept breaking - sometimes it works sometimes not. I could live with the cat5 cable that plugs into the side using the wired network but my wife claims that the 1m roaming is somewhat restrictive.   I feel that the Dell software that offers to maintain all my network connections is doing all the damage.   To that end, how can I remove it completely?   Thanks

you're talking about the dell wireless utility?  i wouldn't bother removing it -- just keep it from turning on.  select 'have windows manage this connection' and then prevent the utility from starting (not sure where it is -- likely under startup or can be found under msconfig)

Hmm, I tried the 'let windows manage...' option but I did not stop anything from starting at startup.   Thanks   I'm away from the pc for a while so I cannot check it immediately, if anyone knows whether it is a service which is particularly difficult to identify then any guidance would be much appreciated.   Phil
