I cannot access 192.168.1.1

Hi,

This is my first post, so please be kind if the post is not placed in the right location.

My home gateway / vivid wireless "4G" account is a few years old, but it seems that the speed is getting slow more often, which is quite frustrating.

Looking on the forum, it is recommended to have a look at RSSI and CINR parameters, so I tried to logon to 192.168.I.I as recommended, but got a fail -1 error when entering logon details.

I followed The instructions of 192.168.l.l | 192.168.1.1

Can you please help?

Thanks.

Hi,

What brand is your home router?  I assume that is what you are trying to log into.  Some manufacturers set their user interface for their routers to that address.  Linksys is one.   Most though use 192.168.0.1.   Try using that address instead.

Let me know if that works for you or not.

Do oou set password for the WiFinetwork? If don't people nearby your home can access the 192.168.1.1 IP address and they can change the default gateway to something else. Is they are connected to your network, it will decrease your Internet speed. So check out the router pack to get the default ip address. If the Ip address is same and still problem for accessing the router admin page, only possible solution is to reset your Router.

Thanks.

In most cases, it would be due to Wrong Gateway IP Address where 19216811.is not their Default IP Address. Still,If everything is fine and 192.168.1.1 is the correct address and Cannot access it, Then i would simply Suggest you to Reset Router Settings Quickly. That would 99% solve the issue for sure. Follow these steps to Reset Router Settings

Best Choice: Reset Router Settings to solve Issue with 192.168.1.1

  • On each router, you will find a small button, usually next to the power button, which you need to press something sharp (because it is very small) and hold for about 10 seconds.
  • After that, all logins / passwords / settings will be reset to factory defaults and you can use your router. But keep in mind that you have to re-make all the settings that were made earlier.

Maybe your router's IP address is 192.168.0.1, or other IP you've forgotten. You should check your device's IP address and also your router's IP first, if they are in the same LAN range, then you can access your router.
