I can't print share
I went to support.dell.com and set this up the way it says and I can't see the printer when I go to install a network printer on my laptop. I have a NetGear wireless router with a range extender. I tried connecting manually to the router and it still doesn't see the printer. I don't use Zone Alarm or any third party firewall stuff but I do have Microsoft beta version of spyware that's free from their website but it being on or off makes not difference it still won't work. I checked to see if file and print sharing is an exception in my firewall exceptions tab and it is. I'm running win xp pro and the computer with the printer on it is running win 2k pro. Printer sharing is enabled for the w2k machine. Any ideas? I've gone over the dell instructions 3 or 4 times. I also have an access list set up in my router for security. Only the mac addresses that are listed are able to access the internet.

Did you designate the printer as a shared printer on the Win 2K machine?

Normally Windows XP finds all shared printers on the network and installs them without user interaction. Sometimes it takes a few hours for this happen, but in my experience it always does so, finding a whole bunch of printers I really don't want to use or ever will use throughout my work network. Can you use the Add Printer wizard and browse to the printer you are trying to access? Is the Guest account enabled on the Windows 2K machine?
