i cant setup up my wireless connection

need more info: have you connected the router to the computer with an ethernet cable, typed the router's ip address in the address bar and gone in to the router's set up page to enter details supplied by your isp? This really needs to be done via ethernet. If you have done this can you let us know how far you have got and what happens. You may have to configure your firewall, but we need to know what you have done so far.

yes ive done all that. i enabled the wireless on dell quick set but the light isnt going on for some reason

Did you enable your wireless card?(Fn + F2 on keypad)

 

 

can i ask and i no this will sound stupid but is this laptop of mine wireless bulit in or do i have to buy a wireless network card?

Confirm using the Device Manager, click Start > Control Panel > System >Hardware tab > click Device Manager button > open up Network Adapters. Is a wireless adaptor listed?
