Assuming you signed up for internet service, then you should be contacting the technical support department of your internet provider.

what exacty did they say was "wrong" with your computer?

If you can get an IP address and a gateway, then you should be able online.

Download Firefox on another computer, and install it. See whether you have better luck.

 jokerforlifeny,

My suspicions are to try...

Powering off the ISP MOdem/router for 60 seconds. Also power off any wireless routers(if any). Power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 30 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)

Restart your computer and then try to connect. What happens? If you still cannot connect, then try restarting your computer and tap F8 and try to connect with safe mode with networking.

Was the operating system recently reinstalled?

@ieee488 It is not the Internet, it is the computer

@lllion

Inspiron says I am connected, but I have no Internet.

I have no clue what you are doing.

You have replied on a thread that is 10 years old and was about the E310 desktop computer.
