i need ethernet controller drivers for dimension 2400

I reformatted my Dell Dimension 2400 PC and installed Windows XP and I don't have my Ethernet Controller drivers.. I looked for a disc but I don't have one. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. I figure there is different kinds of drivers and I don't want to download the wrong thing. Where can I download the drivers I need?? Thank you for your time. I appreciate it.

kline86,

The ethernet controller drivers can be found on your Dell Dimension Resource CD.  It may also be called a "Drivers and Utilities" disk.  One of your "Drivers and Utilities" disk will have only your modem driver on it, so be sure to read the label on the CD.

If you cannot locate the CD, you can download the driver from this link:

Thanks so much! It worked! I also was wondering if I needed some kind of driver to change my screen resolution? I can only use 800x600. Is there a download link for that? And can I order a driver & utilities disc to prevent this from happening again? Thanks

kline86,

You cannot order a Drivers and Utilities CD from Dell.  You can, however, download all of your drivers from Dell's website.  It would seem from your comments that you may need to install all of the drivers for your system.  You should install drivers in this order:

1.  Intel Chipset driver available here
2.  Intel integrated video driver available here
3.  Onboard sound card driver available here

You already have the network card driver.  The modem driver could be this one or this one or this one .

Install the chipset driver before any of the other drivers.
