i need help!!!!!!! please

hi everyone, i am a collegebound 19 yr old who knows nothing about the internet or computers. I have to have a laptop for school this semester, one that has internet both connection cable and wireless. My laptop doesnt have a wireless card, so i am kinda wondering.... can any tell me how or what i need to achiev both? i know im dumb but i can accept that. I dont know what kind of cables i need or wireless card or even how either works, could someone save me, my future depends on it.

Your best option at this point is to buy a PC Card wireless network adapter.   802.11g PC Card wireless network adapters from Linksys, Netgear, or D-Link will plug into the PC Card slot on the side of your computer.

You could help us to help you if you told us which model laptop computer you have.  Otherwise we would just be making a wild guess which might cause you go out and spend money on something that will never work.

No connection cables are required for a wireless connection.  A standard ethernet cable (easily found at the college bookstore) will allow you to connect with etherent.

thanx, but what about the connection cables i have to be able to do both?
