Is your router a Westel 327W modem/router and do you have a Dell wireless network card?  If so, you need to upgrade the firmware on your modem/router.  See the following:

Now you have me totally confused.  I thought that you have a Westel DSl modem/router combo.  Now there is some Linksys device in the mix that you have never before said anything about.  If the Linksys device is a router, then you don't need it with the Westel modem/router combo.  If you want help, you need to explain your setup.

Ok, I got a DSL modem/router combo, and I got a linksys router, I want to use my DSL modem/router, ONLY for a modem, but i want to use my linksys as a route\, i dont want to use my dsl router, i wanna use my linksys router, this is how i connect , 1 ethernet, the front goes inside my DSL modem, and the end go inside my router, LINKSYS, then the other ethernet goes inside my cpu and xbox, the end of those ethernet go inside my linksys, but when i put in 192.168.1.1 in my internet browser, it goes in to the WRT54G set up page, and if i take out my linksys then it will go o the westell one... if i connect my linksys i cant go online.. why?

You can't go online because you have two routers on the same network.  If you set up your Linksys router so that it acts as an access point only, then it should work.  You will also need to make sure that your router has a fixed IP address that is not the same as the modem/router.  Get out your Linksys users manual to see how to do this.

Problem: Since setting up desktop (wired) about a week ago, I no longer have access to the internet on my laptop (wireless).

Specifics: Laptop is Inspiron 8600 - Desktop is Dimension 9200 - Router is Linksys Model #WRT54G - Cable Modem provide by Local Internet Service Provider.

Current Wiring: Cable from wall to modem - ethernet cord from modem to router - additional ethernet cord from router to desktop.

I have contacted Dell online chat as well as via phone calls, also contact internet provider and router manufacturer. They have all instructed the typical "power cycle" thing where you power down and wait a bit to power back up. Also have tried all wizards to connect laptop to the internet. I am still getting nothing. The desktop does have internet access. The laptop won't set up anything for wireless access. Any ideas???
